I don't know why I persist in thinking of myself as someone who wears skirts. In the chaos that is my head, however, I would toooootally wear a simple white skirt like this. Oh, tomorrow is labor day? Oh what a SHAME. Now I can't be PRETTY.

Before UNC, light blue = pretty and flattering. Now light blue = GO TAR HEELS!

This is a lovely dress.

But this one is sort of funny and dorky... I'd hit it.

1. This cool brass-and-pearl necklace is just right: classy enough for an upscale salon, and simple enough that it would also look good with jeans and a black t.

2. I don't just like this because it's called the geometry necklace. I think it would hit my collarbones just right.

3. This white skirt would be terrific for the summer. I could wear it with just about anything.

4. A great fit, and white is very fresh and spring-y.

5. If the spring accent color were green, I would bust this baby out five days a week. It would be like being in a meadow.

There's a terrific website selling vintage clothing, and I picked out my favorite pieces.

To start with the cream of the crop, here is an extroardinary, perfect linen swing dress from the fifties, when women's clothing had shape.

Actors often say that their costumes help them more than one would expect when they are getting into character. This dress couldn't help but make me feel delicate, beautiful, and womanly. I think that modern clothes are too often made without any thought given to how wearing them makes a person feel.

Even the ugly print isn't enough to sour me on this dress because of its terrific shape.

And this jacket is truly badass while being totaly librarianable.

Going to bed in the 20s? What you'd think.

Going to bed in the fifties? Not just for good girls any more.

In our first round, we have a pair of beautiful Manolo Blahnik open-toe pumps with a 3.5 inch heel covered in green alligator skin. Yes, friends, these shoes cost a little over three thousand dollars because in order to manufacture them, someone had to kill an alligator. Delightful.

They will be facing a disco-inspired platform in metallic snakeskin with a 4.5 inch heel, an absolutely wild and fabulous shoe by Louboutin.

Next, the sun sets and we get ready to go aoooooot tonight. What to pair with our lovely gown? Shall it be a classy, crystal-studded Louboutin pump?

Or are we going to take a risk and choose this Wintry fairytale shoe from Manolo?
